If there is oil residue on your finger after depressing it into the old pad, then it is time for a new Felt Drip Pad!
Simply remove the old one after removing the metal tray on the bottom of your machine and place the new wool pad inside. (You may need to clean the excess oil and old pad adhesives from the tray before applying the new pad.)
