Featherweight 221K Sewing Machine, EF2863** - 1949

This Singer Featherweight 221K is in very good condition, and it was commissioned on August 17th, 1949!  Cleaned and serviced inside and out - this 221 will be ready to sew right out of the case.  This machine is fitted with an original 220-volt motor that has been rewound to work at 110-volt power with optimum speed and torque.  A converter is not needed in the U.S. or Canada.  This beautiful machine has just a few pin scratches and has been given a Grade 8-.

Included with this machine is its original purchase receipt and two service receipts. The salesman transposed a number on the original receipt, but the receipts have the corrected number. Having the original purchase receipts from over 75 years ago significantly increases the value and desirability of this machine.

This machine features the unique gold 'S' Bakelite-band motor.  These uncommon motors were made in the U.S.A., Canada, and Great Britain with this machine having one of the 220v Great Britain ones.

The Original Bobbin Case is included, adhering to originality all these years later.  The machine has been serviced and calibrated for quilter’s cotton, so tension is already properly set; however, tension can easily be adjusted depending on fabric needs.

The machine is fitted with an original scrolled faceplate and the original case includes the top tray for holding the attachments.
